The Clarke Filtrapac Backpack Vacuum is probably the best piece of equipment in its class, for the list price of $539 US.
The Clarke Filtrapac Backpack Vacuum is probably the best piece of equipment in its class, for the list price of $539 US. That being said, if that price is too steep for an individual consumer, the same Clarke FiltraPac unit maybe had for around $300 used. At this price, one will probably be more willing to spring for the $40 and higher HEPA filters and approximately $16 filter pages that are necessary for the vacuum’s operation. These charges place the Clarke FiltraPac out of the hands of many regular consumers; though the vacuum is good value for what one gets with it.

With its portability, the Clarke FiltraPac Backpack Vacuum is most certainly geared towards professional operation. The ergonomic frame to the backpack unit allows a prospective operator to use the device in comfort for long periods of time, which furthers the idea that this vacuum is more for a janitorial engineer than a homemaker. However, there is also a lot to appreciate from the point of view from the average user who would acquire such a machine. The Clarke FiltraPac’s padding will avoid discomfort from the unit, and many consumers will certainly appreciate an end to lugging around an upright vacuum cleaner.

The powerful two-stage motor delivers one full horsepower of energy to really generate, and keep, a powerful amount of vacuum suction. The onboard tool storage is both welcome, and well designed. Keeping the toolkit in the hands of the operator was a nice touch that keeps the unit competitive against high-end uprights. Most importantly for this style of vacuum is the long cord to extend the operator’s reach. At forty feet, there is no lack of length.

The Clarke FiltraPac Backpack vacuum is a well-made unit. The quality of the machinery will be well appreciated. Its price, though relatively high, is very competitive against many of the high-end uprights. Therefore, it is a good fit for many uses.
